ADELPHI BEGINS ITS THIRDS YEAR OF PEER MENTORING
PROGRAMS DESIGNED BY MATILDA RAFFA CUOMO
September 10th, 2007 Adelphi Academy began its third year of peer mentoring programs
offering sixteen Adelphi seniors the opportunity to spend one-hour a week with a younger peer in the Lower School of Adelphi Academy.
According to Matilda Raffa Cuomo, Founder and President of Mentoring USA,“I am so delighted to learn that Adelphi continues their 1:1 model, offering their senior students the chance to earn community service credits, gain a hands on acquaintance with the teaching profession, and an opportunity to assist and mentor a younger peer.” Mrs. Cuomo continued, “I am especially pleased that the Corporate Director of the Academy, Mr. Albert C. Corhan and the Dean of Academics, Mr. Todd W. Marsh identify this as a strong and ongoing part of the historically rich tradition of service that has been the Academy’s hallmark throughout its long and distinguished history.”
Mr. Corhan expressed his own hope to Mrs. Cuomo that she will come again to visit the Academy and the mentoring program, bringing her unique message of hope and support to our school community.
